MARCS Event

Ken Page Memorial Fun-Fly and Open House

The MARCS annual memorial fun-fly, open house, and picnic to start our flying season is on Sunday June 2nd from 10am to 4pm. Everyone is invited including the public. There will be a raffle for a ready-to-fly Corsair model plane (photos below) and members will offer guidance and instruction to interested modelers and people who have questions about joining our club. We’ll even have instructors and a few trainer planes available so we can give new pilots a chance to try out flying!

The picnic will feature grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks provide by the club. Admission and parking for the event is free but there will be a donation jar on-hand if you would like to help support the club. Club members will be bringing side dishes (and guests may do that as well) so we always have a lot of great food at our picnic!

At around noon we will have a ceremony to honor members who have “Flown West” and this usually includes a “missing man” formation. Otherwise it’s open flying all day. Guest pilots are required to have an AMA membership because MARCS is an AMA field. Please bring a current AMA card with you if you would like to fly.

You Could Win This Airplane

MARCS would like to thank club member Bob Studer for kindly donating this beautiful Corsair to the club and Marc Stermer for cleanup and refurb work. Even more exciting is the fact that anyone can win this airplane . . . it will be our big raffle prize at the upcoming Ken Page Memorial Open House on Sunday June 2nd. This event and the raffle is open to anyone interested in the radio control aircraft hobby. We will be posting more information about the event soon.
