MARCS had the honor of hosting the maiden flight of Tom Miller’s Cessna. His son and current MARCS member Robert Miller provided the following story about the airplane.
Dr. Tom began building his Top Flite Cessna 182 just before and after his wife Ruth passed away. He is 87 years old and it was compiled after 2 1/2 years. He built his first balsa plane 80 years ago at age 7 and won his first balsa rubber band indoor free flight competition at age 11.
The Cessna was brought to the MARCS field to have the president of the club Marc Stermer trim it out and test fly it. Marc loved it.

1996 Top Flite Cessna 182 Gold edition kit designed for nitro engines and converted to electric using his own design. He bought the kit in 1996.
